HOW TO ORDER

Payment can be made online by credit card or via e-transfer after you've placed your order online.

Choose you preferred delivery option:

  • Porch delivery is free for orders $20 or more within the following postcodes: M6E, M6G, M6H, M6J, M6K, M6M, M6N, M6P, M6R and M6S
  • Porch pick up from our home at 616 Indian Road, Toronto M6P 2C6 
  • Shipping Canada-wide at a flat rate of $5 for kits and seeds. We do not ship microgreens, nor can we ship any products to destinations outside of Canada.

We are currently building up our urban farm in preparation for sustainable production, experimenting with five varietals to start:

    • $20 per 10" x 20" live tray (a cut-your-own tray of living microgreens containing 350-450 grams of produce; $10 refundable deposit required for the tray)

    • $15 per 150g portion
    • $20 per 10" x 20" tray ( a cut-your-own tray of living microgreens containing 200-300 grams of produce; $10 refundable deposit required for the tray)

GROW-YOUR-OWN-KITS

We are currently selling two grow-your-own organic microgreen kits. Both come with organic growing medium and  two organic seed varieties, plus instructions. The kits supply seeds and medium sufficient to grow two 5" x 5" trays of microgreens. You supply the trays, for example an old pie tray or mushroom container. All packaging material is recyclable, and the soil can be composted after harvest.

    Growing microgreens at home? We can supply organic seeds for many of the most popular varieties. Our seed packs contain the right quantity of seeds for two 5” x 10” trays (as supplied with the grow-your-own kits).

    Taste & Texture: Slightly sweet, ‘fresh’ taste with a hint of pea flavour; crunchy, succulent shoots with tendrils, approximately 4-cm long. Perhaps the world’s most popular microgreen (along with sunflower).
    Nutrition: Vitamins A, B, C and E, calcium, chlorophyll, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, amino acids.

    • Suitable Growth Medium: Soil (preferred)

    Sunflower
    Variety: Black Oilseed
    Species:  Helianthus annuus
    Seed Country of Origin: Italy
    Certified: Canada Organic, USDA Organic
    Taste & Texture: Nutty taste and very crunchy. Possibly the world’s most popular microgreen.
    Nutrition: A good source of healthy fats, fiber, protein, and iron. Also a concentrated source of calories. High in chlorophyll and fiber, and containing a range of other vitamins and minerals including Vitamins A, B, C, D, and E, plus calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, and trace amounts of zinc, copper, chromium, and manganese.
    Microgreen Growing Method:

    • Presoak: 2-4 hours
    • Suitable Growth Medium: Soil (avoid ProMix)
    • Germination time: 3-4 days (weighted)
    • Harvest time:12-16 days

    Radish
    Variety: Kaiware
    Species: Raphanus raphanistrum subsp. sativus

    Taste & Texture: Peppery taste, a bit like the radish bulb itself. A beautiful fast-growing microgreen with a bright white stem and large leaves.
    Nutrition: Great protein source and a very good source of vitamins A, B6, C, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc.

    Mustard
    Variety: Oriental Wasabi
    Species: Brassica juncea

    Taste & Texture: A spicy, bold microgreen with a horseradish-like taste. The leaves are delicate and pale green in colour.
    Nutrition: A powerhouse of protein and a great source of vitamins A, B6, and C, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc. Also contains antioxidants.
    Usage: Use in spring rolls, on sandwiches, in stir fry, or dishes where you want some spice.

    Broccoli
    Species: Brassica oleracea
    Seed Country of Origin: USA
    Certified: Canada Organic, USDA Organic
    Taste & Texture: Tender plants with mild broccoli and an earthy, deliciously mild, fresh cabbage flavor. The leaves are brilliant green with a thin whitish stem with light shades of purple.
    Usage: As a pizza topping, in soups, curries, omelets, stir fries, with pasta and other hot dishes. Popular for juicing.
    Nutrition: Rich in vitamins K, C, B6, and E, folate, dietary fiber phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium. Broccoli sprouts contain high levels of the cellular detoxifier sulforaphane, which may help to prevent cancer and rejuvenate the immune system. Note, sulforaphane is heat-sensitive, so avoid cooking your broccoli microgreens – add them at the last minute to cooked dishes or simply eat them raw in a salad or sandwich.
